The Unbearable Lightness of Being – Milan Kundera, who died earlier this month on 11th July. This has been on my To Be Read list for an eternity…now is the time to enjoy it. RIP Milan Kundera.
The Talented Mr Ripley – Patricia Highsmith. It’s now August, and this was my 20th book of the year.
Tender is the Flesh – Agustine Bazterrica, a dystopian, cannibalistic horror story, which lived up to its description!

The Tales of Esmerelda – N J Leleu. Noel Leleu and I left school in 1970, and went our separate ways until last year when we had lunch with school friends on my trip back to my hometown, Nottingham. Noel told me that he had written a novel which was published in 2006.
Butterfly – Yusra Mardini…an extraordinary true story.
The Armour of Light – Ken Follett, the fifth book in the Kingsbridge series, and still my favourite author!
A Brief History of Slavery – Jeremy Black.
The Exchange – John Grisham, the long awaited sequel to The Firm.
Cup of Gold – John Steinbeck, it is early November, and this is my 30th book of the year.
The Tailor of Panama – John le Carré….at last, a John le Carré book I’ve thoroughly enjoyed!
Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey, my 32nd book of the year and my first ever audio book.
11/22/63 – Stephen King, on the 60th anniversary of the JFK assassination, in which my next book is mentioned as part of the story…
