David

I was born in land locked Nottingham, and the dream to sail began while living in Brazil in the early 1990’s after reading a book ‘Dez anos no Mar”….Ten years at Sea. An opportunity to set foot on a sailing yacht for the first time came in 2007 on a Competent Crew course in Gibraltar. In 2008 I joined Hull Sailing Club and completed the Day Skipper course on the Solent. In 2009 I bought a yacht and began living on board in Hull marina and finally, after a few years of planning, the “escape” took place on 29 June 2014.

Nemo

I was a present for David at a leaving party in the Minerva pub in 2014. I appear in a photograph of every place we visit, and the photographs are posted on Facebook. So I am not just a cuddly toy, I am a photographic model.

Wildbeast

I am Wildbeast II, a 2003 Beneteau 361 Oceanis Category A sailing yacht with two double cabins. I can be sailed single-handed or fully crewed, and have auto helming, chartplotter, radar, VHF radio and AIS for self steering, navigation and communications. There are solar panels and a wind turbine for self generated electricity. A four person life raft, EPIRB, PLB and lifejackets are just some of the life saving equipment on board. Two folding bikes, dinghy with outboard motor and a stand up paddle board add to the fun, and most importantly I am equipped with Edinburgh crystal wine glasses for those sunset moments at anchor.
